Dia Internacional de los Museos - Barcelona

Todos los Años se celebra el dia Internacional de los Museos el 18 de Mayo... y con este motivo, muchos museos abriran sus puertas de forma Gratuita para todos aquellos asiduos al arte y la cultura.

Cada país es diferente y como tal cuenta con sus propias tradiciones, costumbras y formas de ver el arte, se recomienda que los organizadores de los museos en esta fecha organicen sus eventos alrededor del 18 de Mayo, teniendo en cuenta el espíritu que lo motiva: - Los Museos son un importante medio para el intercambio cultural, en el creciemitno de las culturas y la union de todos en un mutuo entendimiento de como crecer dia a dia como personas, para una mejor cooperación y de la paz entre los pueblos.

Barcelona no sera la excepción, la noche del 19 de Mayo desde las 19 horas hasta las 01 de la Madrugada,  mas de 50 museos en toda Barcelona abriran sus puertas de forma Gratuita.

Recibió en 2003 el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de Investigación por su “trascendental aportación científica” sobre las raíces del comportamiento y la cultura humanas a través de sus estudios con chimpancés. Es, además, Embajadora por la Paz de las Naciones Unidas, Dama del Imperio Británico y Medalla Benjamin Franklin.

Más allá de su investigación, Jane Goodall es un símbolo e icono de la naturaleza y esperanza por un mundo más sostenible y justo. Su proyecto ha trascendido la investigación para pasar a ser un movimiento social en todo el planeta, al que se dedica personalmente en cuerpo y alma, impartiendo conferencias durante 300 días al año.

Natural Park La Albufera Valencia

LA ALBUFERA VALENCIA

I would like to talk about one of the less known touristic spots in Valencia, but nonetheless worth a visit. La Albufera Lake is a saltwater lagoon, part of a Natural Park with the same name located just 10 km away from Valencia. There are different ways to reach that nice and quiet place with plenty of awesome nooks.

One option is to get there taking the Touristic Bus (with 4 to 5 journeys day) or using the public transport (in summer there are two every hour, in winter just one). With both options you will need like an hour to get there. Once you are there you definitely should make a boat trip in the channels of the lake and chat with the locals about the region, the biodiversity, nature and the Valencian’s countryside way of life.
 

 
I recommend trying to do it enjoying a beautiful sunset. Local people are friendly and will give you advises about the best paella restaurants and the villages close by with places worth to visit. You can combine the visit with a relaxed afternoon on one of the serene beaches along the coast, where probably is going to be just you and the seagulls. One of the most concurred beaches are el Perelló, El Saler, being La Devesa (known as a nudists’ beach as well) y Les Gavines real small paradises with jus few people around. You can also try delicious paella or any of the Valencian typical rice dishes in El Palmar, small village famous for its good restaurants.
 

 

Anything you decide to do, you will definitely enjoy a quiet and relaxed day, discovering beautiful nature, exquisite food and nice people.

The Ceramics Museum of Valencia is one of the most breathtaking buildings in the city. I think that each and everyone should see this amazing piece of art even if you don’t intend to go inside.

 

 

 

The Ceramics Museum is housed in the Palacio de Marques de Dos Aguas, a luxurious palace that combines rococco, neo-classical and oriental elements with an unbelievable baroque entrance. Inside you will find the fully furnished interior of the palace and the best of ceramics that Valencia had to offer through the centuries. The fact is that Valencia has a large history in ceramics arts.

The palace dates from as far back as XV century, although it has been fully re-shaped since then. Home to a Valencian noble family - the Marquis de Dos Aguas, it was originally a Gothic building, few years later it was re-shaped to Baroque and after all there were added new elements.

The ceramic collection has from Islamic samples to exquisite modern works. The most impressive of it all is the typical Valencian kitchen made of ceramic and the porcelain room. 

 

You need around 2 hours to fully discover all the beautiful details and would really recommend the guided tour as you can learn so much about the Valencian history and the building itself.
